SIRO
A Mirror of THE Mind
TO BE RELEASED 2021
Siro is an interactive installation that renders the participant’s brain-activity data into three-dimensional abstract visual and atmospherically surrounding audio. It is a partially guided tour for a single participant.
How a person may feel and react to an external mirror image of his/her mind remains a question. I see it not only as a mission for neuroscientists but can also be approached from an artistic point of view. I want to explore with Siro the usually invisible connections between the conceptual inner world and the physical outer world while only using the brain-activity data as a metaphor to “the mind” and a controllable tool for interaction. Just like a well-written science-fiction that doesn’t represent the scientific facts but makes the readers imagine. With Siro, I want to create for the participant an artistic journey with a scientific background.

A Monolithic being does not have to be in the Monolith shape. Siro transforms
its shape to fit the vision of a drop of water captured in the middle of the air.
First Concept drawing (January 2019)
Influenced by movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”, Siro began as a Monolith elevated from a pond of water.
